The story behind the release of this edition of Dick's Picks is truly amazing. Jerry Garcia gave ¼" tapes of both concerts to Keith Godchaux so he could become familiar with the group's repertoire. Godchaux then left these tapes at his parents' houseboat in Alameda, where they remained for the next 35 years. In 2005 they were rediscovered by Keiths' brother, mastered and released on HDCD.
