The Byrds were one of the first bands to combine the best of two different worlds. They crossed the energy of the British Invasion with the lyricism and musical elements of the contemporary folk movement. Along the way they pioneered psychedelic and country rock, always combining their harmony-laden voices with slightly dissonant guitar playing. When their debut "Mr. Tambourine Man" was released in 1965, it hit the flower power movement like a bomb. Undoubtedly one of the most important debuts in rock history.
