Comeback album after 36 years They are back: the Boomtown Rats will release a new album "Citizens Of Boomtown" in 2020. It's the first album from the Irish new wave and rock legends around Bob Geldof in over 36 years. Their last LP "In The Long Grass" was released in 1984. The band broke up a year later. In 2013 Geldof (vocals, guitar), Garry Roberts (guitar), Pete Briquette (bass) and Simon Crowe (drums) finally got together. Another seven years passed before the album was released. It's all the more pleasing that the Citizens Of Boomtown book is now complete. With the single "Trash Glam, Baby", they brought the first taste of the new, ten-song album back in January. And with its post-punk sound, Britpop influence and 80s vibe, it shows some interesting faces of the Boomtown Rats.
