The Beatles is an album released on November 22, 1968 on The Beatles . It is their eleventh studio album and the soundtrack to the 1968 film Yellow Submarine. The album was produced by George Martin and features original songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, as well as a number of cover versions. The album was released in both mono and stereo versions. The Beatles reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and number three on the US Billboard 200. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The album has been certified platinum six times by the Recording Industry Association of America and has sold over six million copies in the U.S. In 2009, the album was re-released as The Beatles : Video Rock Band. In November 2018, the album was remastered and re-released on CD and vinyl as part of The Beatles' 50th Anniversary.
