In early November, this best of will be released in a new version, this time accompanied by extensive visual material...The Beatles were one of the pioneers of making music videos for their songs. When they weren't touring or filming in the studio, they were making short videos or shots that were hugely successful on TV. It's a wonder that a complete set has never been released to round out this rare visual. Until now...On November 6, it is announced that the 1+ set will be released, which will include one CD and two DVDs or Blu-rays in the most extended version. The audio disc will feature twenty-seven of The Beatles' most commercially successful songs, which will be offered to fans in this form for the first time in newly remastered stereo mixes, but much more crucial this time around will be the visual material provided by the two included DVDs and Blu-ray. The 18-strong team, led by Grammy Award-winning Giles Martin, spent hundreds of hours at the legendary Abbey Road Studios tracking down, painstakingly cleaning, restoring and scanning in 4K from original promo films, recorded TV shows and other carefully curated video footage, resulting in hours of material that fans will be able to enjoy for the first time in audio 5.The first DVD will feature video clips of all the Beatles' British number one songs, clips of the songs that fans will also find on the CD. Four of them will be accompanied by commentaries by living members of the Beetles - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The second visual disc will be full of bonus features, which fans will see in some cases for the very first time. Twenty-three clips will feature alternate versions of promo videos, rare live performances, and other never-before-released videos that will total more than an hour and a half of extraordinary material. In addition, all these discs will be complemented by a comprehensive 124-page book that will feature contributions from music journalists and historians in addition to period photographs...The new edition of Disc 1, which will be released in an expanded version as 1+, is the first complete look at the commercial success of the most famous band of all time.
