Smiley Smile is the Beach Boys' eleventh studio album, released on September 18, 1967. The album was originally planned as a solo album by Brian Wilson, but after he withdrew from the project, the remaining Beach Boys completed the album as a group effort. It was the first album released after the death of founding member and Wilson's brother Carl Wilson. The album Smiley Smile was met with mixed reviews from music critics, but some have since considered it a cult classic. The album features a more stripped-down sound and includes the singles "Good Vibrations" and "Heroes and Villains". Wild Honey is the Beach Boys' twelfth studio album, released on December 18, 1967. The album was recorded in the summer of 1967 and was the first album produced by the group's new manager Michael Love. Wild Honey was met with mixed reviews from music critics, but has since been considered a cult classic by some. The album features a more restrained sound and includes the singles "Darlin'" and "I Was Made to Love Her".
