Tarja Turunen's creativity knows no bounds Fans of symphonic rock singer Tarja Turunen have nothing to complain about in 2016, as the Finnish soprano and composer releases two new studio albums in the space of just two months. It all started on June 3 with the predecessor "The Brightest Void". The second part of the double album "The Shadow Self" will follow on August 5. According to Turunen, the reason for her extensive output is that she simply had too many songs for one album. So the singer simply made it two albums that stand completely on their own, but still belong together. Like its predecessor, "Shadow Me" has a few surprises in store. These include a cover version of Muse's hit "Supremancy" and a duet with Canadian singer Alissa White-Gluz of Swedish metal band Arch Enemy. Otherwise, the former Nightwish singer continues on the new album what she left off on the first, overlaying her angelic voice over massive guitar riffs and pulsating drums eleven times.
