Swan's reissue of "The Great Annihilator" offers a complete remastering of the album and as a bonus, Michael Gira's complete solo album "Drainland". Both works were created during the same creative period, so it makes sense to combine them in terms of content. "The Great Annihilator" was originally released in 1995, the remaster comes from the original recordings. Doug Henderson undertook this task with great dedication and to the satisfaction of Michael Gira, who describes the result as "a revelation with great sonic impact". Anyone who hears the majestic "I am the sun" in its new sound knows the power of the recording.
