For insiders, it's almost an understandable collaboration if you recap the career of American drone gods Sunno))) and Norwegian band Ulver. Especially Ulver, who originally played black metal and a kind of neo-folk and today are considered an important figure in the post-rock genre thanks to the influences of industrial metal, trip-hop and ambient, must have met Greg Anderson's institution of drone and doom. Recorded in one take as a "live improvisation" at Ulver's Crystal Canyon studio, the sonic monolith "Terrestrials" contains only three epic tracks. These oscillate between dark ambient and doom borrowings, and upon repeated listens, condense into an elegant and expansive wall of sound, full of menacing, but that's why it's so mesmerizing, intensity.
