The Sparks - Brothers Ron and Russell Mael won the favour of generations of fans in the early 1970s and are one of the most influential bands ever. Morrissey, Siouxsie Sioux, the Pet Shop Boys and many others count the Sparks' "loyal following" among the internationally successful. This compilation of 12-inch versions of Sparks' work is a collection of extended mixes reworked in the studio for use at discos. Success in Europe came in 1979 thanks to a collaboration with Italian producer Giorgio Moroder, who, along with Pete Bellotto, made American singer Donna Summer a megastar and their hypnotic instrumental style Eurodisco a name. This unique compilation features the best 12-inch versions from 1979 to 1984 and a bonus track from 1997 with Jimmy Somerville. The booklet again includes detailed liner notes written by acclaimed Record Collector magazine journalist Michael Heatley.
