Simply Funk and Soul We missed them: After a four-year hiatus from releasing albums, Simply Red will finally come out with a new album in 2019. "Blue Eyed Soul" is the title of the follow-up to 2015's "Big Love," the Brits' 12th album. Mick Hucknall wrote ten songs for it, which are a diverse collection of funk, soul and pop, haunting songs and soulful ballads. The band recorded "Blue Eyed Soul" more or less live at Mark Knopfler's British Grove studio in London. Only a few recordings were added later. Andy Wright was in charge of the album's production. Simply Red have already brought the first preview in the form of the single "Thinking Of You". And it definitely makes you want more. If you want to see for yourself, you can order "Blue Eyed Soul" online. PS: In addition to the standard digipak CD, "Blue Eyed Soul" is also available in a deluxe edition with an additional CD of remixes and alternate versions. Fans of the record will enjoy the classic black or limited purple vinyl.
