The album was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA and sold over 14 million copies in the United States. The album opens with "The Sound of Silence," the duo's first hit single. The song originally appeared on their debut album "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M" in 1964. The album also features "The Boxer" from their 1969 album "Bridge over Troubled Water". The song became a hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.
