Scorpions' 50th birthday: remastered song "Taken By Force" In 2015, Scorpions celebrate their 50th anniversary. On the occasion of the band's birthday, they are therefore coming up with something very special for their fans: the "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition". In this edition, Scorpions are re-releasing a number of different studio and live albums. In addition, the band has pulled a number of previously unreleased tracks from their archives, including rare live recordings, alternate versions of their songs and rough mixes. For example, "Taken By Force", the band's fifth studio album, has been completely remastered for the birthday edition. The original album was released in Europe in 1977. It was the last album the Scorpions recorded with their then guitarist Uli Jon Roth, who was a particular influence on the band's style. The original recording contained eight tracks in total, the remastered version contains an additional six tracks, including never-released demos and the track "Blue Dream (Unfinished Instrumental)", which was also never released. "Taken By Force" is available as a CD and as a complete set consisting of an LP and a CD. In addition to the recordings, there is a comprehensive booklet with rare photographs, pictures of the single covers and tour posters. Also included are new liner notes by former Metal Hammer editor Edgar Klüsener. Never before seen: 'Taken By Force' is the Scorpions' groundbreaking album in new quality. In addition, there are also previously unheard songs by the band. A must for all fans and collectors. In addition to "Taken By Force", the anniversary series includes the albums "World Wide Live", "Tokyo Tapes", "Lovedrive", "Animal Magnetism", "Blackout", "Love At First Sting" and "Savage Amusement". The album opens with "Taken By Force" (1977; CD, LP+CD), the first to feature drummer Herman Rarebell. The album offered melodic metal in tempo ("Steamrock Fever"!) and bonus material with previously unreleased demos." (Good Times, December 2015 / January 2016)
