The greatest happiness for Scorpions fans, who number several million worldwide, is that their three-year-long Farewell World Tour is still not over. Still the most internationally popular German rock band in the history of music, the band has only occupied 23 of the 38 announced countries where they plan to play farewell shows. On September 11 and 12, 2013 Klaus Meine (vocals, guitar), Rudolf Schenker (guitar, vocals), Matthias Jabs (guitar), Pawel Maciwoda (bass) and James Kottak (drums) played two great acoustic sets at the Lycabettus Theatre in Athens. The open-air theatre, designed in 1965 by Greek architect Takis Zenetos (so it's as old as the history of the Scorpions), is located about 300 m above sea level on Mount Lycabettus and offers an impressive view of the Greek capital. But it wasn't just the impressive backdrop that convinced the Scorpions to head to Athens for the first ever MTV Unplugged outdoor concert. "When we got the idea of an unplugged concert, we immediately thought of Greece," recalls Klaus Meine. And Matthias Jabs adds: "We have great fans all over the world, but the most die-hard ones are from Greece." Of the choice of the Lycabettus theatre, Meine says: "We played here many years ago. It's a beautiful place. I remember that even back then fans were climbing the surrounding rocks. Of course, this time we played some classic songs, but we also played some new songs and songs we've never played live before. These are mainly songs that
