British heavy metal legends Saxon have re-recorded their classic tracks, giving fans access to a completely different, alternative world of the band. The beauty of music is not only in the wildness and the angry beast! On Unplugged and Strung Up, Saxon made selections and interpreted the classics in a unique, fresh and bold way - this time without the harsh sound of "Heavy Metal Thunder". Unplugged And Strung Up showcases parts of the music that were dormant in the 14 songs and now come to life in new arrangements and mixes that are instantly catchy. The tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered earlier this year by Andy Sneap in Derbyshire, England. Biff and his people have rethought classics like "The Eagle Has Landed" and "Crusader," reworking them and giving them tremendous energy by adding orchestral dynamics. This gave these songs a whole new dimension. "Frozen Rainbow" from the band's 1979 debut album, for example, surprises in its acoustic form, which the orchestra has shaped into a power ballad you can be more than proud of, while "Red Star Falling" progresses to unimaginable heights and goes through all the emotions to finally join the orchestral sound. Review ,,As the album title suggests, some songs are dressed up in string sound, while others now sound like acoustic. Others break from this concept as mere reissues, but not at all in quality."
