Along with Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, Saxon was one of the highlights of the "new wave of British heavy metal" in the early 1980s, one of the most important stages of metal that produced several classic songs of the genre. The new anthology "Decade Of The Eagle" presents 34 of the best tracks from the first nine albums of the band around frontman and vocalist Biff Byford. The retrospective, which is available as a deluxe 2CD and 4LP edition, features a gold coin embossed on the cover. The booklet, with liner notes by Bill Byford, also contains rare period photographs.
