As always, the record is packed with the quality songwriting, brilliant observation, self-reflective introspection and playful sound that have made Rod one of the best-selling artists of all time.The album is available in a standard version that includes 13 tracks and a deluxe version with 16 tracks. The songs navigate the waters of acoustic folk, Motown pop and R&B, pure rock 'n' roll and heart-tugging ballads.Blood Red Roses is a 13-track collection of deeply personal songs, released three years after the bestselling Another Country, five years after Time and fifty years after signing his first solo contract. The first single released, Didn't I, deals with the damage that drugs can do from a parent's perspective. "I always make a record with the feeling that I'm making it for my few friends. That's why this record is also very intimate and honest," Rod explains the atmosphere.Rod Stewart has been in the music world since 1962, when he started out as a backing singer for Ray Davies' band. Two years later he joined Jimmy Powell & the Five Dimensions as lead singer and harmonica player. The breakthrough came with The Faces, but it was short-lived (1969-1975). Rod then embarked on a solo career and managed to record a number of albums during his prolific career. He has sold over 200 million singles and records worldwide. His best album is 1971's Every Picture Tells A Story. Rod Stewart is one of the few artists who has released singles that have topped the charts every decade of his career. He has twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has been awarded a Grammy, and was knighted in 2016 for his contributions to music and charity.
