Beca (Anna Kendrick) has started a new school and as a severe introvert, she plans to fit in and make friends with no one. That's the first reason you won't meet her except with headphones on. The second is her desire to become a successful DJ. She sticks to her plan until she comes across a very disparate group of girls (uptight beauty queens, sassy badasses, sexual drama queens and severe antisocials) who are united by the competitive chorus of famous songs without musical accompaniment. They create it with their own voices. Beca may say "no" to the first round of courtship, but her unquestioned musical ear and ability to sing cleanly even in the shower eventually brings her into the club of singing students. But Beca's a bit of a rebel, and things immediately start to spark unhealthily between her and unofficial team leader Aubrey. While Aubrey is a middle-of-the-road singer, Beca is always looking for new ways, Aubrey is all about winning the prestigious school vocal group competition, Beca doesn't give a damn about any competition. They differ in practically everything, and as strong characters they will inevitably clash one day. And although the classic singer says that "singing sounds beautiful", this is definitely not going to be beautiful. And yet the finale is so close!
