Is Mike Rosenberg good? Most people probably know the British singer-songwriter more as Passenger. In 2016, he unveiled his eighth studio album, Young As The Morning Old As The Sea. It's no secret anymore that Passenger has a special talent for catchy tunes, at least since his huge hit "Let Her Go" in 2013. On the contrary: his immensely distinctive voice, soulful, sometimes ironic lyrics, and blend of songwriting, pop and folk - this combination not only makes him likeable, but has also resulted in two Top 10 albums already. The best prerequisites for "Young As The Morning Old As The Sea", because on it the musician remains as true to himself as ever. This is already evident in the title track, which is also the first single from the new album. "Young As The Morning Old As The Sea" takes the listener on a mental journey around the world. Passenger was assisted by several professional musicians during the recording process: Ben Edgar took the second guitar, Rob Clader played bass, Peter Marin sat in on drums and Jon Solo on keyboards. An old friend, producer Chris Vallejo (INXS, Empire Of The Sun) was behind the mixing desk. Recording took place at Roundhead Studios in Auckland and Linear Studios in Sydney. In addition to the standard CD and LP, the new album is also available in a deluxe version. The double LP includes the album and a bonus LP with acoustic versions. There is also a limited edition "Young As The Morning Old As The Sea" which includes a bonus DVD in addition to the album on CD. Passenger does not get any reworking on "Young As The Morning Old As The Sea". Fortunately! Passenger remains Passenger, the good remains good.
