Silk&Soul, recorded in New York in 1967, was the second album Nina Simone recorded for RCA. And although the arrangements didn't always suit her voice the best, this album contains classics like "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free", which became an anthem of the civil rights movement. "It Be's That Way Sometimes", written by her brother Sam Waymon, and "The Turning Point" are featured, as well as Dusty Springfield's rendition of "The Look Of Love", which originally appeared in the 1966 James Bond film Casino Royale and is reminiscent of Mozart in its climax.
