Dark Times The new work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will be released on 9th September 2016. The sixteenth album will be called "Skeleton Tree" and will feature eight new songs. There is no other preliminary information - no preview singles, no sound samples. However, all Nick Cave fans need not worry now. The great craving for more information will be fulfilled with an exceptionally big bang. However, all interested parties need to be at the cinema on September 8. On that day alone, "One More Time With Feeling" will be released in 650 theaters worldwide. Also in Germany, a number of cinemas from Hamburg to Stuttgart will be showing the film. You can watch live performances of the new songs and interviews, as well as some reflections and musings by Nick Cave. Andrew Dominik directed the film "One More Time With Feeling". Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, multi-instrumentalist with the Bad Seeds, wrote the music for Dominik's film "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (2007). So they've known each other for a while. The film "One More Time With Feeling" was shot in black and white, colour, 2D and 3D. The film was originally conceived as a simple recording of a performance. However, the project became something much more significant when the director delved deeper into the tragic genesis and themes of the new album. The result is "sparse, fragile and raw" and also "the legacy of an artist trying to find his way through the darkness," as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds state on their homepage. Work on 'Skeleton Tree' began in late 2014 at Reatreat Studios in Brighton, with further recording taking place in 2015 at La Frette Studios in France. The album was finally mixed at London's AIR Studios earlier this year. This time also saw the terrible loss of Nick Cave. In July 2015, his 15-year-old son Arthur died after falling off a cliff in Brighton. There are no shortage of tragic events in Nick Cave's life. He lost his father in a car accident at a young age and had to overcome a heroin addiction himself. Dark themes and melancholic moods have always permeated his music. Recent events will certainly be reflected on the new album. "Skeleton", a tree with no leaves and no visible life, is certainly a symbol of sadness for many. But the strong trunk with its bare branches and their increasingly delicate offshoots also carries great beauty. This is at the heart of Nick Cave's work. The documentary about the album "One More Time With Feeling" is now finally available on DVD and Blu-ray.
