Concept album by Muse: "Drones" The new, seventh album by Muse is about "drones". With their concept album, the trio denounces the mendacity of drone operations. Drones, which are supposedly used to protect humanity, are themselves destroying lives in an inhumane way. Moreover, those who must operate in the drone warfare system become fighting machines without conscience. Muse has already released several songs from their new album "Drones" since March 2015. Therefore, fans already have an idea of what to expect in the overall concept - and they are excited. The concept album tells the story of a soldier in the system: his dehumanization in training, the horrors of war, the realization that he must break free from the system, and the realization that he has lost all the people he loves. "Drones" deals with a serious subject: musically, Muse made the most of it. They turn away from the richly orchestral stylistic experiments of the previous album and return to their three-piece lineup of guitar, bass and drums. Spoken O-notes and electronically distorted sounds are thrown in, while contemplative piano sounds are added at odd moments - such as on the quiet "Mercy". The songs on "Drones" are rock songs. Matt Bellamy makes catchy sounds while playing guitar and, for example, in the song "Psycho" he uses a riff that has been in his repertoire for a long time and that loyal fans should know from concerts. With the exception of the quieter moments, the trio is consistently dynamic. After all, lighters and cell phones should be waved during a concert. This time, producer legend Robert "Mutt" Lange took care of the absolutely perfect mix of songs and the right sound. The new Muse album "Drones" works equally well as a concept album and as a successful collection of rock hits. Muse has created lasting value.
