Morphine is an alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their debut album "Good" was released in 1992. The band's instrumentation was somewhat unusual for a rock band: frontman Mark Sandman used a two-string bass guitar played on slide and added some instruments on the albums, such as guitar, piano, electronic organ and other instruments he invented himself. Saxophonist Dana Colley played several types of saxophones (mainly baritone), sometimes several saxophones at once, and occasionally played drums. Overall, this created a rock sound infused with jazz and blues on "Good" and other Morphine albums. "Good" is available on black vinyl and includes an insert.
