Minor Threat was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1980 in Washington, D.C. The band consisted of singer Ian MacKaye, guitarist Brian Baker, bassist Jeff Nelson, and drummer Lyle Preslar. Minor Threat Their song "Straight Edge" became a staple of the straight edge movement. The band was relatively short-lived, lasting only four years and releasing only three studio albums and one EP.
