"Dark Side Of The Spoon" ist das siebte Album von MINISTRY, das ursprünglich 1999 erschien. Der Song "Bad Blood" wurde im Jahr 2000 als "Best Metal Performance" für den Grammy nominiert. Der Albumtitel hat zwei Theorien hervorgebracht, die im ersten Song ausgeführt werden: zum einen könnte es sich hier um ein einfache Wortspiel rund um "Dark Side Of The Moon" von PINK FLOYD handeln; zum anderen ist es eine Referenz an die dunkle, verrußte Seite des Löffels, den man braucht, um Heroin aufzulösen - was Sinn macht, wenn man die Drogenhistorie von MINISTRY kennt. Das Albumcover sorgte seinerzeit für Kontroversen, so dass das Album aus einigen Supermarktketten verbannt wurde, bis sowohl die Frau und die Tafel mit "I will be good" aus dem Cover entfernt wurden. The song "Bad Blood" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2000. There are two theories behind the title (which appears in the lyrics of the opening track), the first of which is a simple pun, referring to Pink Floyd's album The Dark Side Of The Moon. The second is a reference to the blackened or dark side of a spoon when heated to dissolve heroin, as the band was suffering from an addiction to said substance at the time. The album cover, which depicts a naked fat woman sitting in front of a black board with the words "I will be god" written many times, gained controversy and was banned from Kmart. The woman and the words on the board were later erased. This is the first release of Dark Side Of The Spoon on vinyl!
