Quebec Magnetic is a live album by American heavy metal band Metallica , released on December 10, 2013. The album was recorded in 2009 at the Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The album was announced on October 28, 2013 along with the release of the music video for the song "Lords of Summer". The album was released on CD, vinyl and as a digital download. Quebec Magnetic features nine live tracks from the band's 2009 World Magnetic Tour and three unreleased studio tracks. The live tracks were recorded at the Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City, Canada on August 17, 2009. The studio tracks were recorded at the same location in March 2009. The album was met with mixed reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a standardized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 58, which means "mixed or average". Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic gave the album three and a half stars out of five, writing that "Quebec Magnetic is Metallica , doing what Metallica does best: delivering an expertly orchestrated and flawlessly executed live
