It was Metallica's first album with bassist Jason Newsted, who replaced Cliff Burton after his death in 1986. The album was also Metallica's first to be produced by Bob Rock. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number six on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over five million copies in the United States. The album's lead single, "One", became a huge hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. The album's title track, "And Justice for All", was also a hit, reaching number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album, "Blackened" and "Harvester of Sorrow", were less successful, but still managed to reach the top 20 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The album "...And Justice for All" is often considered Metallica's best album and is often cited as one of the best metal albums of all time. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
