The years 1976 and 1977 were very crucial in the life of Manfred Mann's Earth Band. In the middle of a successful five-album run, the band changed several members while gaining an incredible number of fans around the world thanks to its unique blend of progressive rock, jazz and blues. Although Manfred himself was familiar with the band's previous success in the pop charts, The Roaring Silence album secured a whole new level of fame for Manfred Mann's Earth Band when it topped the charts in 1977. Bruce Springsteen's Blinded By The Light, of course, had all the makings of a hit, but must have surprised both the band and Springsteen, as it was the first number one album for both. This track was appreciated by Mann's legion of fans, as the refreshing combination of the newly added Chris Thompson's vocals and Mann's familiar keyboard phrases made this a modern classic rock standard. Even today, it remains one of the most played songs in classic rock history. A strictly limited reissue of the 1976 album on vinyl. Comes with original artwork and bonus track.
