International performers with a new sheen Less than two years after the release of the impressive "Freedom & Surrender", Lizz Wrigth is already gearing up for a new album in 2017. "Grace" is the title of the American jazz singer's sixth studio album. For it, Wright has recorded ten songs, mostly cover versions of popular songs and classics, which bring to life the songwriting and musical culture of the American South. Inspiration for "Grace" came from Ray Charles, Allen Toussaint, Nina Simone, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, K.D. lang, Bob Dylan, Frank Perkins and Mitchell Parish, among others, as well as lesser-known new musicians like Rose Cousins and the Birds of Chicago. The album was produced by singer-songwriter Joe Henry (Bonnie Raitt, Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello). It's no longer a secret that Lizz Wright is a gifted songwriter and singer. But she also adds a new lustre to foreign works. "Grace" is proof of that.
