Čtyři roky po albu "Testimonium" (2017) je "Leidenschaft" čtrnáctým studiovým albem symfonické metalové kapely vedené Tilo Wolffem a Anne Nurmi.

Lacrimosa vznikla v listopadu 1990 jako alternativní kapela, která kombinuje lyrické texty v němčině s rockovou a orchestrální hudbou. Již více než 25 let vydává skupina kolem zakladatele Tila Wolffa svou hudbu na vlastním labelu Hall Of Sermon. V průběhu let se Lacrimosa stala průkopníkem různých hudebních žánrů, jako je německojazyčný alternativní rock a symfonický metal.

Jako první německy mluvící kapela bez nahrávací smlouvy s hudební společností a bez podpory z veřejných zdrojů odehrála Lacrimosa v roce 1998 turné v Mexiku, po kterém následovala další koncertní turné v Jižní Americe, Rusku a Číně. Od té doby Lacrimosa procestovala celý svět, spolupracovala s renomovanými orchestry, jako je Londýnský symfonický orchestr a Babelsbergský filmový orchestr, nahrávala v legendárních studiích Abbey Road a může se pochlubit různými předními místy v hitparádách ve více než 25 zemích světa.
