Klaus Nomi was an opera singer and performer who was known for his outrageous costumes and theatrical performances. In 1981 he released his own album Klaus Nomi , which featured his signature operatic vocals and an eclectic mix of pop, new wave and electronica. The album was a critical and commercial success and helped establish Nomi as a leading figure in the New Wave music scene.
