Williams' two concerts at the Musikverein in Vienna on 18 and 19 January 2020 were the first ever conducted by the composer in continental Europe. Working with the Vienna Philharmonic was "a very special honour" in his life. Alongside Williams and the orchestra, the first half of the concert featured another exceptional artist on stage: Anne-Sophie Mutter. The conductor and violinist thus continued their artistic partnership after the release of their joint album Across the Stars. The new album "John Williams in Vienna" combines iconic themes from the films of E. T, Jaws, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and other milestones in film history, as well as two previously unreleased arrangements for violin that Williams specially arranged for Mutter, "The Devil's Dance" from The Witches of Eastwick and "March of the Raiders" from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.
