With thirteen songs and an instrumental intro, the American band returned for the first time from their adopted European home in Amsterdam. Original members Geoff Lagadec (vocals, guitar) and David "The Germ" Germain (drums) teamed up with Dutchmen Jan Jaap Onverwagt (keyboards, bass) and Jordi Nieuwenburg (solo guitar) to form the future core line-up that would deliver their most polished work to date on "More Late Night Transmissions", an album that surpassed its predecessor "First Beer Of A New Day". It's incomprehensible that the genre-hopping sovereigns, with their earth-warming blend of reggae, ska, rock and punk with a slight flavour of dub and hip hop, aren't at least as well-known as Rancid or Sublime, who are often used as comparisons - with this album alone the band showed sheer class and have consistently continued their journey of ever-increasing popularity to this day. With songs like "Thank You Reggae", "Blur", "Night Bus" and the great Jimmy Cliff anthem "The Harder They Come", Jaya The Cat showed off their incredible class, nonchalance and great charm.
