Ghost is a Swedish rock band who released their third album Meliora in 2015. The album was critically acclaimed and was a commercial success, reaching number one in Sweden and number eight in the United States. The album's lead single, the track "Cirice", was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance. The album's title, Meliora, is Latin for "better". The album's themes are based on the idea of progress and moving forward. The album's first track, "Spirit", sets the tone for the album with its heavy guitar riffs and lyrics about moving on from the past. The album's second track, "From the Pinnacle to the Pit," is about the rise and fall of civilizations. The album's third track, "Cirice", is about a young girl who falls into the hands of a group of vampires. The song was inspired by Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. The album's fourth track, "Papa Emeritus III", is about the death of religion. The album's fifth track, "Mummy Dust", is about the dangers of technology.
