Abacab was the eleventh studio album by British rock band Genesis, released in September 1981. The album departed from the band's earlier progressive rock sound and instead featured a poppier style. The album was commercially successful, reaching number one in the UK and number three in the US. The album's lead single, "Abacab", was a top ten hit in both countries. The album "Abacab" is widely regarded as one of Genesis' strongest albums. Critics have praised the band's new pop sound.
