Releasing two albums in a matter of months may seem a bit ambitious to some, but Five Finger Death Punch are used to failing to live up to the expectations of others. Against all odds, the five-piece have been trying to make it to the Olymp of heavy metal since their formation in 2006. Their first three albums, 2007's The Way of the Fist, 2009's War is the Answer, and 2011's American Capitalist, all achieved gold status in their homeland and have sold over four million copies worldwide. The band had ten singles in the top ten on the US Active Rock Radio chart and even reached number one in 2012 with "Coming Down", while American Capitalist reached number three on the Billboard Top 200. With this, FFDP proved once and for all that heavy metal has definitely arrived in the mainstream. Still, the band decided to push the bar a little higher on their fourth and fifth albums. With a clear goal in mind, they headed to the Hide Out studio in Las Vegas in November 2012 with producer Kevin Churk (Ozzy Osbourne, In This Moment). The creation of two albums helped the five develop artistically like never before. For the first time in their career, the band brought in legendary friends to collaborate.
