Amy Lee's vocals take on a different dimension when she plays only piano (My Immortal) to accompany it. The songs are either dark and very atmospheric, beautifully textured with keyboards, strings and layered vocals, or conversely very crisp and lush, but both take the music to a new level. The sound of the album as a whole is definitely captivating and ethereal and improves with each listen, it's an album with a consistent quality that is incredibly captivating. The production is thicker, warmer and fuller than almost anything I've heard before. For a newcomer, this is definitely more than just a solid entry.
