Claptonův intimní akustický koncert ve zvuku a obrazu

Stejně jako mnoho dalších hudebníků musel Eric Clapton v loňském a letošním roce zrušit několik koncertů kvůli pandemii koronaviru a výluce.

Aby svým fanouškům ještě něco nabídl, sešel se britský zpěvák a kytarista místo toho se svou kapelou, baskytaristou a doprovodným vokalistou Nathanem Eastem, bubeníkem Stevem Gaddem a klávesistou Chrisem Staintonem, v Cowdray House v anglickém Západním Sussexu, aby natočil něco, co bylo původně plánováno jako jakési pokračování jeho úspěšného alba "MTV Unplugged" z roku 1992: své nové koncertní album "The Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions".

Na tomto intimním koncertu byli přítomni pouze samotní účastníci, zatímco se točily kamery a nahrávací zařízení.

Kapela pro album nahrála 17 písní, akustické interpretace vlastních skladeb a řadu dalších bluesových, rockových a countryových čísel. Zahrnuty jsou Claptonovy originály jako "Layla" a "Tears In Heaven", "After Midnight", "Bell Bottom Blues", "Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out" a "Key To The Highway", bluesové standardy jako "Rock Me Baby" a coververze písní, které pana Slowhanda formovaly po celou jeho kariéru, například písně Feetwood Mac "Black Magic Woman" a "Man Of The World" z éry Petera Greena. Celá věc byla nahrána pod vedením Claptonova dlouholetého producenta, držitele Grammy Russe Titelmana (James Taylor, George Harrison, Brian Wilson, Randy Newman, Rickie Lee Jones), který již produkoval "MTV Unplugged".
