Sweet home You could say it's his second home: the Royal Albert Hall in London. Blues-rock legend Eric Clapton played at least 200 concerts there, the first on 7 December 1967 as a member of the Yardbirds. Since then, many legendary performances have followed at the famous concert hall, including a memorial concert for George Harrison in 2002 and a "Cream Reunion Concert" with the original line-up in 2005. It's no wonder the singer and guitarist returned here again on the occasion of his 70th birthday for seven concerts between 14 and 23 May 2015. Now available is a best of his programme entitled "Slowhand At 70 - Live At The Royal Albert Hall". Together with his band, which included singer, guitarist, keyboardist and former Mike & the Mechanics member Paul Carrack, drummer Steve Gadd, Fourplay bassist Nathan East, keyboardist Chris Stainton and singers Sharon White and Michelle John, the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member got the crowd rocking. In addition to blues classics, Clapton and his band played many of his greatest hits during these nights, including "Crossroads," "Tears In Heaven," "I Shot The Sheriff," "Cocaine" and "Layla." The album "Slowhand At 70 - Live At The Royal Albert Hall" recorded a total of 18 tracks from the programme for later generations, in a variety of formats. The album is available for example on DVD or Blu-ray, as a double CD with DVD, as an LP or as a set of three LPs and a DVD. He can't do without her, she can't do without him: Eric Clapton and the Royal Albert Hall. This magical constellation has been thrilling audiences for 50 years. "Slowhand At 70 - Live At The Royal Albert Hall" will bring it home to you. Review: "No need for famous guests to create a festive mood, the excellent backing musicians of Slowhand, Paul Carrack (keyboards, voc), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Nathan East (b), Steve Gadd (dr), chorus girls Michelle John and Sharon White, as well as Andy Fairweather Low, were all on hand to provide the opening act, each of whom came on stage for "High Time We Went"." (Good Times, December 2015/January 2016)
Album spans genres Rock and Blues.
