On the 50th anniversary of his debut: Eric Clapton reissued Last year, Eric Clapton celebrated 50 years since the release of his solo debut album "Eric Clapton". To celebrate this anniversary, a limited anniversary Deluxe Edition with four CDs as well as a vinyl reissue will be released in 2021. "Eric Clapton" was originally released in August 1970 and represented one of the most successful reincarnations in rock history. After becoming one of the seminal guitar heroes of the 1960s, Clapton changed his musical priorities. This album marked Clapton's transition from instrumental icon to versatile singer and musician and laid the foundation for his highly successful solo career, which continues to this day. He therefore surrounded himself with new American musicians and tapped into a musical base that provided a new framework for his talents. In addition to Clapton (vocals, guitar), the album "Eric Clapton" features Rita Coolidge (vocals), Bob Keys (saxophone), Bobby Whitlock (Hammond organ, vocals), Leon Russell (piano), Sonny Curtis (vocals), Jim Gordon (drums), Bonnie Bramlett (vocals), Delaney Bramlett (rhythm guitar), Carl Radle (bass), Jerry Allison (vocals), John Simon (piano), Stephen Stills (guitar, vocals), Jim Price (trumpet) and Tex Johnson (drums). The album was recorded in January 1970 at Village Recorders in West Los Angeles and in March 1970 at Island Studios in London. It was a great success: 'Eric Clapton' reached number 13 in the UK and number 14 in the US charts. The new limited anniversary Deluxe Edition collects the album in three separate mixes: the Eric Clapton Mix, the Delany Bramlett Mix and the Tom Dowd Mix (The UK Version). For the first time, a complete Eric Clapton mix is being released. This anniversary collection also includes several singles, alternate versions and outtakes from the recording sessions. Record lovers will be in for a treat with the vinyl reissue.
