Throughout her extraordinary career, the "First Lady of Song" has collaborated with key figures in big band jazz, won a total of 13 Grammy Awards, and was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1987. The song "Sunshine of Your Love" reflects her enthusiasm for pop, which originated in the 1960s. The album offers an impressive musical array of songs by John Lennon, Eric Clapton and Antônio Carlos Jobim on one side and big band classics like "Give Me the Simple Life" and "Old Devil Moon" on the other.
