This year marks the 40th anniversary of Electric Light Orchestra's seventh studio album "Out of the Blue"! Originally released in October 1997, the album spawned five country hits and became the first double album in the history of the UK charts to spawn four Top 20 singles. To mark the anniversary, the album is being released in a double picture vinyl edition, featuring of course the hits Mr Blue Sky, Wild West Hero and Turn To Stone. "Out Of The Blue" is one of the most ambitious works in classic rock history, thanks in part to "Concerto for a Rainy Day," a four-movement suite immortalized on side C. It was also the first album to feature the ELO logo in a new form - as a three-dimensional flying saucer or space station. The flying object became the central motif of the band's future concerts.
