"Playing The Angel | The 12" Singles" obsahuje celkem deset 12" vinylových desek v této luxusní sběratelské edici, které představují singly z jedenáctého studiového alba Depeche Mode "Playing The Angel" vydaného v říjnu 2005, a které jsou kromě aktuálních skladeb "Precious", "A Pain That I'm Used To", "Suffer Well" a "John The Revelator / Lilian" bohatě vybaveny také B-stranami, remixy, instrumentálními a dubovými verzemi a dalšími nahrávkami z prostředí alba. Desátý, závěrečný disk, sestavený speciálně pro tuto kolekci, nabízí B-strany a remixy, které byly v té době roztroušeny na CD a maxisinglech.

Každý box set z této série obsahuje limitovanou, číslovanou edici singlů z každého alba Depeche Mode na vysoce kvalitním vinylu, přičemž remasterované zvukové stopy jsou převzaty přímo z původních master pásů. Speciální obal box setu byl inspirován původními alby, zatímco samotné 12" singly byly inspirovány původními obaly. Součástí je reprodukce původního propagačního plakátu.
