F. Schöler in Stereo 4 / 95: "For the remastering of the album "The Very Best Of Cream" the latest high-bitrate technology was used. A Polygram technician copied the originals with 20-bit resolution and then re-cut these digital tapes using Apogee's UV22 process. In terms of sound, it was certainly crucial that he re-aligned the selected recordings from "Fresh Cream" and "Disraeli Gears" almost all of them, track by track in a different way, changing the balance to his taste. Apart from the nuances, only the material from "Wheels of Fire" has been re-recorded. The only exception is the track "Deserted Cities of the Heart", which now sounds much more brilliant and fuller in the basic range than on the "golden" DCC double-decker before.
