After their formation in the mid-90s, they got off to a start that all newcomers to the metal scene have had to contend with ever since - with almost every album they've released, they've achieved gold or even platinum status in their home country, and in the last two decades they've become regulars on the world's biggest stages - CHILDREN OF BODOM. Formed in 1993 by thirteen-year-old Alexi Laiho and fourteen-year-old Jaska Raatikainen, the young Finnish band was joined by two other talented instrumentalists, keyboardist Janne Wirman and bassist Henkka Seppälä, before recording their 1997 breakthrough debut "Something Wild", creating a congenial conglomerate whose members would inspire each other to new creative feats again and again over the next seven studio albums.
