Cactus: Cactus version on vinyl LP in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company ATCO Records in cooperation with Music On Vinyl on 12. August 2016.
The original plan for Cactus was to release their debut album with a lineup that included Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogart and drummer Carmine Appice, along with guitarist Jeff Beck and vocalist Rod Stewart. However, Beck's car accident and the fact that Stewart was supporting Ron Wood in the band The Faces opposed this plan. Eventually, Cactus added guitarist Jim McCarthy (Detroit Wheels) and singer Rutsy Day (The Amboy Dukes) and recorded their debut, arguably the highlight of their discography. This turbo-charged boogie is a very good example of how exciting 70s hard rock can still be!
