Blues Singer" - an album full of acoustic blues songs - is the 16th solo album by blues legend Buddy Guy, featuring 12 songs from the pens of semi-famous blues protagonists such as John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters. The 1963 album "Muddy Waters, Folk Singer," on which a young Buddy Guy played second guitar alongside the great Muddy Waters, now serves as an aesthetic model 40 years later. B.B. King (acoustic solo) and Eric Clapton (acoustic slide) play on Buddy's version of the John Lee Hooker classic "Crawlin' Kingsnake"; Eric also plays on "Lucy Mae Blues." Additional credits include Jim Keltner (dr), Tony Garnier (bass) and James "Jimbo" Mathus (guitar and slide guitar). 4 Grammy Awards, 19 W.C. Handy Blues Awards and a Billboard magazine Lifetime Achievement Century Award grace Buddy Guy's resume and document his accomplishments.
