"World Gone Wrong" is Bob Dylan's 29th studio album released in 1993. It was Dylan's second collection of traditional folk songs recorded acoustically on guitar and harmonica. The songs deal with somewhat darker and more tragic themes than the previous one, the opener "Good As I Been To You". "World Gone Wrong" is an exceptional album that features very special recordings that are so well done they come across as modern protest songs. Large portions of this album are relatively unknown to consumers outside the hard core of folk fans; "Delia" (which was covered by Johnny Cash the following year) and "Stack-A-Lee" are the best known tracks, but have been traditionally reworked, and the latter therefore doesn't just sound like "Stagger Lee". However, although these are traditional renditions, they are live versions and Dylan seems more connected to the music than he was years ago. The sense of connection and great song selection make this one of the best and strongest albums of the second half of his career.
