New Frank Sinatra standards by Bob Dylan Bob Dylan does it again. With "Fallen Angels", the singer dedicates himself for the second time in 2016 to the work of his late musical colleague and role model, swing legend Frank Sinatra. In 2015, Dylan had already released the album "Shadows in the Night", which features cover versions of songs from the Great American Songbook. Now twelve more new interpretations of classic American songs follow. These include famous songs from the pens of songwriting pioneers such as Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn and Carolyn Leigh, including hits such as "Maybe You'll Be There", "Young At Heart", "On A Little Street In Singapore" and "It Had To Be You". As on the previous album, all the songs on "Fallen Angeles" were once recorded by Frank Sinatra - with one exception: "Skylark" by Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer. That one has been sung before by such stars as Bing Crosby and Aretha Franklin. The song "Melancholy Mood" was released as the first single on April 7, 2016. Bob Dylan personally selected this and all the other songs on the Fallen Angels album and gave them a new, distinctly decimated treatment. Instead of an orchestra or big band, the singer-songwriter brought his touring band with him again to the recording sessions at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. The album was produced by Jack Frost. Sinatra brought these songs to the big stage, Bob Dylan brings them to the stage. With his own interpretation, this songwriter pays homage to the swing legend and the original songs.
