4CD box set with all songs from the albums and singles of the band from 1970-1974, newly remastered. With illustrated booklet, new liner notes by Malcolm Dom and exclusive interviews with Nick Graham, Pete French, Steve Bolton and Chris Farlow. Sleeping for Years is released in a box set featuring all the band's recordings from classic Atomic Rooster albums, Death Walks Behind You, In Hearing of Atomic Rooster, Made In England, Nice n' Greasy and hits Tomorrow Night and Devil's Answer. Atomic Rooster was founded by former Crazy World of Arthur Brown members Vincent Crane (organ, piano, keyboards) and Carl Palmer (drums). They recorded their first eponymous album in 1970 with Nick Graham (bass, vocals and flute), but after Carl Palmer left to join ELP, the band broke up. He was replaced by Paul Hammond on drums and guitarist and vocalist John Du Cann. This line-up produced the 1971 hits Tomorrow Night and Devil's Answer and the album Death Walks Behind You. Later that year, singer Pete French joined the band and recorded the classic album In Hearing of Atomic Rooster. When John Du Cann and Paul Hammond left the band, they were replaced by guitarist Steve Bolton and drummer Ric Parnell. On the 1972 album Made in England, French was replaced on vocals by Chris Farlowe. The last album, 1970's Nice n' Greasy, featured John Goodsall on guitar under the pseudonym Johnny Mandala. The group's first recording in the 1970s was the single Tell Your Story (Sing Your Song).
